Chevrolet Demonstrates Competitive Advantage of Silverado’s Roll-Formed, High-Strength Steel Bed

The Chevrolet Silverado Toughnology concept was revealed Sept. 25 at the State Fair of Texas, and is bound for SEMA in early November. Reinforcing Silverado’s built-in strength, its unique paint mimics the look of raw steel and is accented with steel molecule graphics. Complementing features include black and chrome appointments, along with Chevrolet Accessory 22-inch wheels mounted on off-road tires.

Lab tests and field demonstrations show Silverado’s roll-formed, high-strength steel bed outperforms the competitor’s stamped aluminum bed, as shown in new videos released by Chevrolet.   It made our day.
